It Happens Every Night w/ Andy Pickett
Most times I try and at least meet the person in passing before they come on the show but some of the more interesting ones are the people I know but have never meet like our guest Andy Pickett. I am often afraid the interview will be a lot of where are you from and how do you approach your craft but with Andy it was comfortable and like talking with an old friend. He starts the show off with the title track off of his latest release called It Happens Every Night. From there we just start talking about the community and what great talent we have. Man we talked about a lot of folks. I remember Jacob Furr, Jake Paleschic, Vincent Neil Emerson, Katie Robertson, Ronnie Heart, Leon Bridges, Nathan Brown Robby Rux, Cameron Smith, Kenny Uptain and I am sure I am missing some. Scattered in there was talk about the people who played on his album and his band. We talked some about his need for making new music and albums, The Republic Street Bar Show, FWWMA, and tons more. The middle track is a brand new track co wrote by Cameron ( ha ha ) called Who Nose the Snow which got us into a discussion about drugs and the good and bad times that go along with it. I really enjoyed that talk with him. We also talked about what our little neighborhood is now compared to what it was and speculation on what it may become. This one was a ton of fun for me and I know Andy had a great time as well. Joe Tacke and Zach Zanetich couldn't make it tonight and it was nice to kick it old school again just one on one. Not that they weren't missed. You can get Andys CD on itunes, spotify, bandcamp, soundcloud and probably at Dreamy Life Records and Music and off course you can track him down and he will gladly sell you one and you will be very happy with your new tunes! The show gets closed out with an interesting little number called Gena Rowlands in Black. Very cool. Thanks for listening
