Rahim Quazi Relax, Breath
Special thanks to Beth Wilson for hooking me up with such an amazing individual. Rahim Quazi stopped in at One Horn Studios and we had a great time with him. Joe Tacke is back and Zachary is out so no Zach Libs this week. This one is just a straight up conversation between the three of us about the Fort Worth scene both past and present, the Dallas scene and the new life in Deep Ellum and how to keep the wheel turning once you have momentum. The first track is a live acoustic track called I Want to See You Smile. Fantastic! Rahims voice and melody is just spot on. Rahim talks some of a divorce and his latest album Ghost Hunting. The middle track is Ghost Hunting and done acoustically and beautifully, but if you hear the studio track you can hear a womans scream that is an actual recording of a ghost captured by Rahim while visiting a ghost town. You have to hear his album. He released his album to a standing room only show at the Kessler. He is a fan of Danny Balis, as am I, so we talk about his solo album, Sorta, the Ticket and the Twilight Lounge. This was such a truly fun conversation and I had no idea what a big player Rahim is in the Dallas and Fort Worth music scene. Great write up in the Weekly and Observer about him. He was nominated for two DOMAs and a Grammy for Ghost Hunting. Wow! Right? He is an amazing person with such a great vibe about him. We did talk a little spirituality stuff. Shout out to Joe Easton and The School of Metaphysics and Mindy Audlin. The last track is a studio track called Relax, Believe. Great advice for anyone at anytime. Its amazing. Check out the album!
