Matthew Broyles inThe Matthew Show
Tuesday Feb 06, 2018
Tuesday Feb 06, 2018
This weeks guest is Matthew Broyles. I was familiar with him from his radio show, The Barbershop on 97.5 KFTW FM The Pirate, and knew he was a great conversationalist. The opening song he starts dropping gold nuggets. So todays first track, Office Suite part 1 by The Matthew Show, is filled with special commentary and then we are off to the races. We talk about Memphis and its similarities to Fort Worth. Somehow we go from that to guns, "forest porn, hollograms, tech framing and singularity. Which leads us to Matthew being an author and a couple of his books Rewired and Trinity. The middle track is the Lesbian Song (Southern Belles). After the break we have some Jerry Reed talk and this made me very very happy. We also talk country music, songwriting, cable access = YouTube, the future, ubanization, and #metoo. We were all over the map all while watching the super bowl and we make predictions. Matthewe is a very busy man. Radio Show Host, Author, Singer Songerwriter and does an Essay Club. You can find him of facebook, https://twitter.com/thematthewshow and his website http://www.thematthewshow.com/ The closing track is When the Night Comes

Future Funkytown Federation of Furries
Tuesday Jan 30, 2018
Tuesday Jan 30, 2018
We have no guest this week, unless you count Rebekah Elizabeth (who is more of an honorary member), it's just Joe, Zach, Rebekah and I. Susie is sick. Get well Susie Sue. The opening track is called Ice Bear and it is off of Mind Spiders latest release called Furies. (Not Furries which threw us into furry talk) We do some Fort Worth vs Dallas talk after hard accusations from the Jerry Jonestown Massacre boys and we set the record straight. Kinda. The middle track is from my new favorite local band of mystery Garage Barrage. They title the first track off their latest album, Scattered and Covered, "She makes me insane" but you will surely know it by another name. After the break we spend the second half of the show going through and listening to the complete album asking the question "Who is Garage Barrage?" This was some Bandcamp treasure finding this album and sharing it with the group. I think you will enjoy our listening party and discussion. If you have any info of Garage Barrage let us know . We close the show with something a little different. It's from an artist called Fenix and it's from his album about battling depression called Three Months. The last track is called November Apathetic. All albums have Fort Worth tags and can be downloaded from Bandcamp. Check out something new. https://dirtnaprecords.bandcamp.com/album/mind-spiders-furies https://garagebarrageband.bandcamp.com/album/scattered-and-covered https://vinylthefenix.bandcamp.com/album/three-months

James Zametz in Women's March and TIny Homes
Tuesday Jan 23, 2018
Tuesday Jan 23, 2018
This week James Zametz from Keep Fort Worth Funky is our guest and man oh man I love it when James stops by. We have a full crew this week. All are well and accounted for. Joe Tacke, Zachary Zanetich and Susie Ramon all join in for our first catch up of the new year. The opening number is a little ditty called Paid by Andy Pickett. With that comes a very big announcement about Hippy Bathday 3. Zach takes a trip to the Zoo, there is some Star Wars/ Movie talk and then we are off to talk about the womens march. James was there on site doing some man on the street interviews. I think maybe a funkytownpodcast first. The middle song we play is by Cody Lynn Boyd and it's called I Play With Fire. This is an interesting young man with an interesting sound. After the break we play Zach Libs, Dustin gets a shout out and I have an idea for a race down Magnolia. We finish off the show with some tiny home talk. I had lots of question about tiny homes and why someone doesnt just buy an RV. Are tiny homes just a result of depression era living? Can we just move away and have our own tiny home compound? If you don't know James, then you've been under a rock, you are really missing out on a great dude. He has huge ideas and a bigger heart! http://www.keepfortworthfunky.com/ http://www.elementalrenovations.com/ https://www.casapequena.space/
The closing song is from our friend Jesse Gage with a great number called High in Vancouver

Mandy Hand in Big Heaven
Thursday Jan 18, 2018
Thursday Jan 18, 2018
Mandy Hand is 1/2 of Big Heaven. The other half, Jesse Gage, couldn't make it but that didnt stop us from having a great show. We start the show off with Creature. Its the first track off of their 4 track EP. The middle track is track 2 off the Ep called Jim smells like weed and we close with song 3 called Pearls. That means there is one song you didnt hear and for $4 you can own all 4 tracks and hear the closing track. We did Zach libs without Zachary, but Susie is here and Joes on the 1s and 2s. Sorry for the minimal description. I have been fighting an illness the last few days and this is taking it out of me. Pick up the EP here https://bigheaven.bandcamp.com/album/strike-a-match

Joe Savage in I Wont Go Away
Thursday Jan 11, 2018
Thursday Jan 11, 2018
Its the first show of 2018 and we are stoked to have Joe Savage back again. Recorded live at One Horn Studio with Joe Tacke behind the wheel. Zachary couldn't make it this week but we are in capable hands as Susie Ramon fills in for him. Joe Savage brought with him Matt Williams and Garrett Peltier, which you may know from Le Cube, and they are now a part of his band. We kick the show off with a brand new song not yet released called Stars in my Head. We talk about New Years, the freezing weather, YouTube and lyric videos. We talk about the records he has made over the past year, how he meet the Le Cube boys, and we talk about his upcoming record called So Low. All songs from the show tonight are from the upcoming album. Its a pretty chill album with lots of space and I think you'll really enjoy it. I Wont Go Away is the middle track we play for break and come back and do a special Zach Libs, ahem, I mean Susie Libs. The last part of the show we get away from music and talk about driverless cars, pizza, NYE, CNN and Jeff Sessions. It is always a blast when Joe stops by. He is a great song writer with a great voice and a beatnick spirit. The last track he calls slam poetry, I call it beat! Its awesome and its called RawPots. It was great to meet and hang out with Matt and Garrett. Hopefully soon we can have Le Cube on. Happy New Year!

2017 Year in Review
Tuesday Jan 02, 2018
Tuesday Jan 02, 2018
Going back through and looking at all the things we did and all the guest we had 2017 might have been our best year yet. I took a lot of my favorite bits, pieces and segments from the past year. I couldn't fit everything in. That is how much good stuff we had. This isn't a best of, or a countdown of any kind but I will say I put the best stuff toward the end. (Best according to me.) I am super thankful to everyone who came on or helped out at all this past year. Many many thanks to Joe Tacke, Zachary Zanetich, Susie Ramon, Rebekah Elizabeth, Dustin Schneider and Matt Stubbs. Also a special thanks to Matt Thomas, Aaron Sanchez, Allison Stanford (for some amazing audio bits) Vincent Neil Emerson, Joe Savage, Denver Williams and Chillamundo, Richard Hennesay, Kevin Geist and Charles Cam Marchbanks of Henry the Archer and Lance Sanders. Opening track is by Lindy "Auld Lang Sine".
Heres to an incredible 2018!

The Epic End of Year Crossover Part 2
Tuesday Dec 26, 2017
Tuesday Dec 26, 2017
So Joe Tacke, Zachary Zanetich and myself found ourselves at the Temple of Eye with the Jerry Jonestown Massacre boys. Dustin Schneider and Matt Stubbs had the brilliant idea of doing a cross over show where we are the guest on their show and as soon as their show was over our show would start and they would be the guest on our show. You can find part one on itunes, stitcher and other platforms as well as here http://jerryjonestownmassacre.com/2017/12/21/show-241-epic-end-year-crossover-part-1/
Our show starts off with the Screaming Thieves doing a Christmas song called A Christmas Story (Robbery) We chit chat a bit and talk about our best and worst podcast moments of 2017. We talk about our favorite local albums of 2017 and we get sidetracked a lot. We were there about 5 hours and our show starts somewhere during hour 3 and its quite a challenge to keep control and focus. It's normally a challenge anyways. Something about the Temple and JJTM that makes you go a little manic. Its a fun listen. There is a Zach Lib (kinda) It is the best and worst of what we do. Both funny and cringy its a good wrap up the this crazy year. This is our last live episode of the year. Next week we have a best off clip show I think you will enjoy. Our closing track is a more serious offering from Matt Thomas aka Robotuner aka RedPants. "Christmas All Year Long" is a cover of a Disney Christmas song from a vinyl record he had as a kid. Good Stuff Redpants. Hope everyone has a happy holiday season. Much love!

Allison Stanford is Delightful
Tuesday Dec 19, 2017
Tuesday Dec 19, 2017
As soon as the show was over and Allison had left One Horn Studio I turned to Joe Tacke and said "That was a great podcast. Allison was great!" Joe replied " Yes, Allison is Delightful!" I'm not sure why but that has stuck with me since then. It was the perfect way to describe her and this show. Delightful! Allison Stanford is an Opera Singer. Soprano to be exact. She moved her in 2012 and shortly after introduced to our little music family. I have wanted to have her as a guest and this time of year seemed like the perfect time of the year to do that. It is the most wonderful time of the year after all. The show kicks off with more local holiday audio, a great cover of Christmas Time is Here by Tame Tame and Quiet. We find out some good stuff about opera. How is it different from musicals, are they always tragic, are they ever sung in english? We also talk local opera and local music. Allison is featured in the Fibs song Simply Divine and we talk about how that took place and what it was like. Here is the song if you want to check it out. https://dreamyliferecords.bandcamp.com/track/simply-divine Allison also has her own projects that she is involved in. Classical Fusion and Little Trio and you can see Classical Fusion January 13th. (Details in the episode) She is also involved with Classical Open Mic. Its every 2nd and 4th Monday and sounds like a really good time. The middle song tonight is from MicroD and its called NightHark and you will love it! You can find more by him here http://bandcamp.microdmusic.com/album/microd-various
The second half kicks off with an email that involves boobies and then Zach Libs and gold is found and magic happens. We talk Christmas songs, candy and Elf on the Shelf, my trip to Houston and Susie's car trouble is resolved. Much love to all. This was a great last episode in One Horn for the year. Merry Christmas! The last song is Blue Christmas by Nick and Page. I miss you April! https://suicidepreventionlifeline.org/

Amanda Tacke in Amanda the Architect (Love is a Verb)
Tuesday Dec 12, 2017
Tuesday Dec 12, 2017
Its a very very special Holiday show this week. We have a guest I never knew was an option. Amanda Schulte Tacke is the wonderful wife of our very own knob tweaker Joe Tacke. Amanda is a local Architect and works with Fort Worth clients and this is very interesting to me. She is also Madame President of the AIA (American Institue of Architects). So we spend the first half talking about the look of the city, certain rules and regulations and what her favorite buildings are. We talk a little west 7th history, how proud and involved Fort Worth Folks are and her favorite projects. There is a lot of good stuff in the first half. The show kicks off with Henry the Archer Lonely Christmas. I look forward to playing this song every year. Shout out to Best Male Vocalist, DOMA, Richard Phillip. In the middle we play a brand new I Happy Am holiday track. Magic by Pilot. It is magical. Pun intended. We torture Amanda with Zach Libs after the break and we then talk some holiday stuff like Santa and finish with some fishing talk. (briefly) The first thing you hear and the last thing you hear are from the new Lindby holiday EP. Its wonderful check it out. Holiday Sky!

The Rock and Roll Reverend is back
Tuesday Dec 05, 2017
Tuesday Dec 05, 2017
The Rockin' Reverend Paul Roach is back for another Christmas episode! He brought his lovely wife Wendy with him. Paul is the Senior Minister at Unity Fort Worth. He's been my pastor for more than a decade and it is always so great to have him and Wendy on to visit. Fully staffed at One Horn Studios with Joe Tacke, Zach Zanetich and Susie Ramone we start the show off with one of my favorite songs to play this time of year. Bundle up Baby Jesus by Skagg Phillips. The firt half of the show we discuss way to find balance in these extreme times. I think this discussion is valuble and hopefully helps this time of year. The middle track is 3 Ships by Dome Dwellers another great local Christmas song. The second half lightens up a bit with Zach Libs. Oh my what a Zach Libs it is. I think we have a new title for Paul's buisness cards. Just before the show Paul gave me some heavy news. After 30 years of growing and leading Unity Fort Worth, Paul is retiring in March. The the last bit of the show we talk about this and he answers questions that I think a lot of us may have. I have a heavy heart about him leaving but I am excited for what lies ahead, not only for him but for the church. We close out with I'll be home for Christmas by Daniel Markham. All of these songs can be found on A Handrawn Christmas. Wednesday December 6 2017 is the Christmas Concert at 7pm and Sunday December 10th at 2pm. There will be an amazing Christmas Eve service and New Years.
