Svenny Baby Cool For a Moment
Tuesday Nov 22, 2016
Tuesday Nov 22, 2016
Its been a few weeks but we are back at One Horn Studio. Joe Tacke and Zachary Zanetich are both here and our very special guest are 2 members of Svenny Baby. (Victor and Dustin) They are with us because Dec 2nd is the release of their new EP Cool for a Moment. The first track we hear is Crystalline. Insert "mini rant". (Not about the song but the holidays.) Then we talk about the EP, synths, Roller Derby and Zach Danger. Z4 is the 4th Zach Danger song to date. You can hear it on the new EP and you guessed it. It's the song you'll hear in the middle. When we come back from break we have Zach Libs and it's quite possibly the best one yet. We also have some interesting conversations like , What does Victor do on Thanksgiving break? Dress up to pratice? Dress up to play? Red Pants! Green Pants! What you should or shouldnt do in your 80's. Its not what you think. You can see Svenny Baby coming up so check the face book page for details. The last track is also new off of the EP and it's called Timeless. Hang out, be cool for a moment and Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Halloween Trick or Treat Smell my
Tuesday Nov 01, 2016
Tuesday Nov 01, 2016
This weeks episode is a little different from the norm. We spend the first half of the show talking about the Capps Park Fall Fest that happened this past Saturday. We have some audio from the event including an interview with little Z and a crazy train ride. The second half of the show we focus on the Do For It records Halloween Extravaganza. Lady Lord and I find ourselves back in Deep Ellum, after who knows how long, at the Curtain Club to witness my BFF Dustin play bass in Shaolin Death Squad who happened to be covering Faith No More that night. The shows music is music from that night. Hear Cruella covering Green Day to kick the show off. Hear Redefine cover Depeche Mode in the middle and we close with two from Shaolin Death Squad doing FNM. Its actually the first two songs that they played and its two songs everone knows so enjoy. Note to Joe Tacke...Halloween is over now so we can let Zachary Zanetich out of the basement.

Reality w/ Sean Russell of Cut Throat Finches
Monday Oct 24, 2016
Monday Oct 24, 2016
This week we find ourselves locked out of One Horn Studio while Joe Tacke plays another gig. 3 in 3 days I think it is. Anyways we decide to set up shop at the Boiled Owl on Magnolia. We sat out on the patio on a gorgeous night and had a really great time getting to know Sean Russell from Cut Throat Finches. They have a brand new record out called Reality. I now am the proud owner of one. Thanks Sean!! The show starts with a live acoustic version of Bedroom Stare and then we get into some Cut Throat Finches. We talk about the name, the vinyl, being on hand drawn records and 80s British rock like the Stone Roses, Catherine Wheel and the Smiths. It was a really fun conversation. We break with another patio recording. This time its Toska and then we find Brandi Beckwith and her friend Devon (i believe) to join us along with Sean's wife Honey for a very political Zach Libs. Sean and I both graduated from the same high school in the 90's so we naturally talk about Cool Water cologne, Obsession, Chess King, Jeans West and oh so much more. I couldn't not talk hats with the man with the awesome hats. He even has one on the cover of the album. Lastly and shortly its voting time and we spend a wee amount of time on the election before the man shuts us down. This is truly one of those episodes that was so much fun. The atmosphere was great. The drinks were stiff. Sean Russell was so cool and so easy to get along with. The last song we close out with is called Ideology Ends. Its another live acoustic from the Boiled Owl Patio. All 3 songs from from the album and you can pick it up at Chief Records, Docs Records and Record Town.

Katsuk's Album Release Party
Monday Oct 17, 2016
Monday Oct 17, 2016
This week the whole crew is back and we find ourselves at Lola's Trailer Park for the Katsuk Album Release. The show kicks off with a live instrumental from Katsuk's set. The one where he plays that crazy wooden flute. Its a good way to find yourself suddenly transported to the show. I catch up with Joe Tacke and Zach Zanetich at the beginning then we interview the Bhakti House Band. They are phenomenal musicians, amazing people and they have such a cool scene, and a groovy bus! You can pick up their music or find out whats going on with them at http://bhaktihouseband.com
Before we hear a couple of songs from Rahim Quazi & the Supernaturals, one of which is Ghost Hunting, we have another very special Zach Libs. Then we have an enjoyable conversation with Rahim Quazi and Jeremy Hull (also of Holy Moly). rahimquazi.com
Joe and Zach managed to grab a couple of minutes with the man of the hour Daniel Katsuk for a quick interview and we close out the show with one last song from Katsuk called Ecstasy. For more information on Katsuk or the brand new album Labyrinth Katsuk.com

Tuesday Oct 11, 2016
Tuesday Oct 11, 2016
Arts Google is always so fun and amazing and this year was no different. I kept debating on whether or not to release this. Not because its not any good or any nefarious reasons, only because it feels incomplete. I wasn't able to finish what we started because we kind of had an abrupt end to the wonderful day. There are some interviews and a ton of music and I did my best to round it out and keep it full. Special thanks to War Party, Joe Gorgeous, The Hendersons, Fort Worth Pipe and Drum Band (I think I might be wrong about that) and Henry the Archer for this episodes music. Thanks to Robby Rux and Dreamy Life Record and Tapes, Eddie Brown from the Fort Worth Weekly, Dewayne and James Zametz from Keep Fort Worth Funky and Bentley's Hot Dogs for interviews. Thanks to the Southside Pirate for broadcasting the event live all day from noon till ten pm. (How cool is that?) Shout out to Plastik Object Photography and I Happy Am. Check out our friends at The Jerry Jonestown Massacre,
Off Radar Podcast, The Intoxicated Gamer, Robotuner's Insignificant Podcast and Deep Video who I saw out there filming so hopefully there will be some really great footage from those gentlemen over there. Lastly, Sophie you were annoying and loud and I miss you. Meow

Movie the Band
Wednesday Oct 05, 2016
Wednesday Oct 05, 2016
I just love this weeks episode. We had on a couple of members from Movie the Band. Mack and Kylie join us and open and close the show with live music. The opening track is Goin' Back to Texas and its cool to hear it acoustic with a keyboard and melodica. It was even cooler to witness it live. Kylie was rockin' it!
You find the track off of their EP LakeHaus Tapes. We talk about the lake house and the relationship some of the band members have with each other, how they met and what have you. Its a big night for Zach Libs as we close out the first of 3 mad lib notebooks. (jeez) The middle track is a Cloudland Studio version of their song TV done by Britt Robisheaux. You get to hear it here first! The second half is a lot of fun as we get to know each other better. I remember vetoing math talk on air but instead getting into music theory talk instead. So have fun with that. =) The last track is another live version of a track off of their EP called Freeway Closed. I dig this band and their sound. It fits comfortably in with the Dreamy Life bands I currently like. I hope you check them out and see them live. They kick off Arts Goggle this Saturday at noon on the 8th street stage. You can download the EP here https://movietheband.bandcamp.com/
